Going Green

That's right. The Tau are going environmental!

...Wait, what?

No, the Tau are getting a new paint job, which unfortunately means I have to wait for paints, and also I have to chage the name of this blog, because hey, I can't be the Swords of Vior'la when I've got a bunch of green Tau! Just doesn't fit, ya know? So me and the fireboys are hopping on an Orca and shipping off to the boonies, where there's gonna be some peace and quite for me to paint things and put together all the new fun stuff. Until then, I'll be posting every so often on Akenseth's blog, making comments on battles or offering up my opinion. After the Tau get on their feet (probably looking at at least a month) I can put up the new site, which will be...

Tau of the Twin Moons

Yeah, anyone who's read the page in the Tau Codex about the planets in the Empire knows that I'm talking about D'yanoi, the rustic planet with two moons casting the planet in perpetual twilight. Given a new branch of tactics I've been working with (and the new paint scheme) I thought it would be the best place to set up camp.

Well, until next time, I have tanks to paint and a Manta to assemble...

Crossing the Warp Rift...

To those of you who also follow Akenseth's blog, you're already aware of what I'm about to talk about. For those of you who don't, firstly, start doing so, and secondly....

Yes, I have Space Marines. Don't everyone freak out, I'm still playing Tau as my main force of destruction across the galaxy. I was simply in the mood to paint something different, and, well, some Marines happened across me. I said to myself "Meh, why not?" So now I'm running two armies of very differing natures, and we'll see where this takes things. Expect me to have alot to say from now on about Marine tactica, what works well for AND against them, and yes...I will continue to talk about the Tau. I have not abandoned them and have no intention to do so. In fact, I plan to use these new Marines as target practice. These new Marines are going to take on a Dark Angels look, but I'll be using the basic Codex Chapter rules for them. ...This won't stop me from using biker squads in games, though. Expect to see more from the "Storm Hawks" in future updates!

Forgeworld Broadsides

Hey guys, long time no see! Hope the holidays are treating you well with plenty of tabletop carnage.

I thought I'd give an update now because...well, I haven't done one is so damn long!

To start off with, good things happened over the x-mas, because I've picked up a few Broadside Battlesuits from Forgeworld! I've barely had a chance to get started on them, but once they're looking pretty I'll get some pics up!

Just letting you know I'm still around!

Custom Etherial - Part 1

I am probably one of the last people who will ever tell you to use an Etherial in a game. They're very much a liability and I prefer to use the 50 points on something else that's actually useful for my strategies, like another Crisis Suit. These feelings and personal preferences aside, I can't help but like the models themselves. Unfortunately my willingness to spend money on one of these guys is very little, and therefore I decided to scratchbuild one out of greenstuff and spare parts!

Here's the little bugger so far:

Hey, Guess What?

Well, turns out my ride to the tournament wasn't able to make it, so no tournament. :(

However, that doesn't mean I can't show off a bunch of stuff I've been working on! Sorry for the hiatus folks, Swords of the Vior'la is BACK!

Phase in, phase out, phase in, phase out, phase in, phase out, phase in, phase out, phase in, phase out, phase in, phase out, phase in, phase out, phase in, phase out...

The OTHER Commander. I'll probably unleash her next game against the Guard.

Check it out! The Pathfinder Shas'Ui is finished and lookin' good!

A couple Kroot that I painted awhile ago and forgot to post.
